Beautiful Buttermere
A fabulous day in the Lake District. Early morning mist and low clouds lasted long enough for us to catch them before setting out. We stopped for an extended stop at an elevated view of Derwent Water before arriving at Buttermere in ever changing conditions. On first arrival the water was calm and the reflections of the pines (in the extras) were fabulous. Within minutes the wind picked up enough to send a constant ripple across the lake. Blue skies became more cloudy but the weather stayed dry and mild until well into the afternoon. A bit of fun with super long exposures (see the "Buttermere tree" extra) towards the end of the afternoon as the light reduced. Time for a tea in the cafe before heading back for a good dinner and an evening of photo critique and advice with John. Same again tomorrow please!!
Poor Annie by contrast had a day working and then a ton of Blipfoto Zendesk queries to answer. Then there were the trick or treat brigade this evening too. She managed it all but eventually did resort to turning off most of the house lights and hiding with her laptop to stop being interrupted!
