Golden Hues

A week ago I set out to capture the beauty of trees in the fall, and seriously, with the New Forest National Park on my doorstep it should not be difficult.
Yet despite that I found this glorious display of colour now within the forest, but by a busy roadside.
This time last week, the colour was emerging, but it was worth waiting the seven days for the colours to deepen.
The danger is of course that it takes only a few days for the leaves to be shed. High wind or rain could have destroyed my plans entirely.
But today I was back in Marchwood on the western side of Southampton Water, and fortunately my patience was rewarded.
Golden times!
