Sangatte sunset
I couldn't remember why the name meant something to me, but I eventually remembered it was the site of the holding camp for illegal imegrants trying to enter GB.
Earlier we were parked in Calais and were approached, to take on a passenger for 20 Euros.......ROFL. Not even for 20,000. They were evident everywhere, as were the Gendarmes. the start of the Olympic games in London obviously had them on high alert. We dined on the roadside at a pub in Calais, beside the road with mirror splinters in the tarmac. I wonder what happens when it wears down?
Claudette was loaded up with Reblochon and a few bottles at a supermarche. She smelt devine!
We had a few relaxing walks along the beach and a quiet last night at the beach at Sangatte. We were not the only ones waiting for the ferry the next morning.
Claudette was well admired as a couple of non english speaking men stuck their heads in and were amazed we had a shower.
Pat on the back for Ally, yet again.
