Saal Mubarak - Happy New Year

For people of Gujarati decent, which I am - today we celebrate New Year, so this got me looking into New Year, more from a spiritual perspective.

I love this excerpt from the book 'Read Daily, Live Fully' by Swami Chinmayananda, about 'True New Year', which discusses how there is really no New Year, as time is a continuous flow - but we have given it a name.

He says that the true New Year is "when you realise your own supreme divine nature and decide to live the higher life that becomes the dawn of the New Year".
