Flood in Schull

This was the sight that greeted me when I arrived in Schull this morning, after torrential rains, the river overflowed down the High Street and into many of the shops including our health food shop, aptly named 'Roaring Water' !! The flood was not nearly as bad as the one in 2009 but the shop floor was covered in silty water. Unfortunately our spare stock is under shelves on the floor, so quite a bit of damage and plenty to clear out and carry upstairs to the flat above, while we scrubbed the floor. There was a good sense of community and offers of help, I put a good example of this in my blip folio.
Exhausted now and I've to pack for an early start in the morning, leaving the chaos behind for a little adventure in Wicklow!
