69023 J2 LNER locomotive

Pickering station was closed today, no trains running. However, I couldn't help noticing the trail of steam mixing with the mid morning mist in the distance and that signalled to me that there was indeed a locomotive on the platform.

This is a class J2 LNER engine designed for shunting. This locomotive was designed by Wilson Worsdell and has Stephenson valve gear. It was built in 1951 (just like myself)
I did manage, not only to get onto the platform, but also onto the footplate of this magnificent little locomotive.

Lots of extras but I have used my 100 and I am now awaiting replenishment.
