Autumn Colours

Whoa! I forgot to report from the very last Alice class yesterday! It was just me and Maja the Rottweiler. The teacher had prepared and examination test for us. We had to do nearly all class 1 competition obedience exercises along an obstacle course with slalom, cones, toys, treats and the teacher making funny noises in the pitch black forest.

But with a twist! Both mums were given three eggs to hold in their hands. And - the eggs were to be returned at the end of the class! We worked hard and I think I did well. At the end, we did Stay and recall. Mum went a long long way away, and I had to run to her over toys and treats and a smashed egg, not stopping no matter what. And I did!

Today we went to one of our "four seasons" spots, and even the last oaks now have autumn colours. We met a friendly curly coated retriever and her dad, who confirmed the cows are now definitely gone from the fields. Which is one of the beautiful things about winter walking.
