Spider's Fantasies Dotted with Fog
Arvin, Helena and I meandered down Chuckanut Drive today on our way to Dave and Nora's in Anacortes. The morning fog had burned off in Bellingham but when we got downtown to pick of H the fog was still there. And it followed us down to road as we headed south. It covered plants with tiny drops and made the forest fade off into the distance in beautiful patterns.
We stopped at the Chuckanut Bay Gallery on our way and were happy to see many new things there. It is a wonderful place full of all kinds of arts and crafts. I love their selections. This time we bought nothing but often we do.
We went on down to Edison where we had lunch at Slough Food and visited the Smith and Valley Gallery, another favorite haunt. Then to the Bread Farm for delicious desert and a large loaf of multi-grain bread to take home.
We got to D & N's right on time. I hung out in the kitchen as Nora prepared a pasta dish with sausage and a vodka sauce. Dave cooked a large piece of ling cod that a friend who's son is a fisherman gave him. Very fresh and delicious. All the dinner was lovely.
We headed home soon after as it is getting dark much earlier now and I don't enjoy driving at night. We dropped off Helena and watched some TV before bed. Now Arvin is snoring beside me, Mehitabel is asleep by my feet, and I am typing the final words of today's blip.
