Sadlers Mill
Sadler’s Mill at Romsey is a focal point on the River Test where it flows around the town only seven miles from its estuary with tidal waters in Southampton Water.
It’s history goes back to the 16th century and is the most cherished of surviving mills around the town. At various times it has been part of the Broadlands Estate, and the Mill House which sits astride the River has been painstakingly restored over the past few years from a near derelict condition. It last went on the market at £1.2 million.
One of the delights of the river at this point is that it’s a good spot to view salmon leaping out of the water as they head upstream to shallow spawning waters.
