Derelict Sunday: Kiosk Removal

A dry mild Sunday afternoon saw me get a chance for a ride on the Duchess.  Now that she's had her 600 mile service the engine is starting to feel a bit looser and more responsive. I had a lovely time pottering about the Mendips and beyond.  

On the way I spotted this phonebox, which rather goes with last week's derelict phonebox blip.  In this case, as you may be able to see, there is a notice inside the box advising that it will shortly be removed as it has had very little use over a significant period of time. Removal is scheduled for 42 days from 17 October.  We cannot keep the country perfectly preserved so as to resemble the lid of a tin of Christmas biscuits, but it is a shame to see  something that has been so iconic disappear completely from the landscape.
