Night clock

This early 19th century clock has a movement in the brass cylinder that turns the glass shade with the numbers on whilst a fixed pointer shows the time and a night light inside illuminates the whole thing so it can be seen from the bed overnight.
We saw it at Melford Hall where the NT were having an event entitled Melford by Night, so all the curtains were drawn and candles, lamps and the odd chandelier provided illumination.
The Georgian item above was meant to be a travel clock, although it comes to pieces the box it was meant to travel in has sadly been lost.
I have an idea for a modern day makeover with a quartz movement and a tiny LED..........
