Brassicas with bucket
Our neighbour gave us brassica seedlings ages ago and I dutifully put them in the ground. One of them turned into purple sprouting broccoli whose meagre spindly fronds we kept forgetting to eat before they turned into bitter flowers. The others I haven't identified but their sole purpose seems to have been to collude with the rain to sustain a giant population of giant slugs - larger than I have ever seen outside a Scottish glen. Now they are finding ways into the house.
Sorry all you nature people - I am a slug-phobe. I am rapidly going off brassicas too.
