BOWLS ANYONE?

And the Heavens did open and there came forth a torrent of rain, sweeping the land and all who dwelt upon her. Bowling greens became swimming pools, swamped beneath the deluge, and waiting tourist coaches stayed empty as their visiting passengers took shelter in any doorway which was not already full with people, young, old, black or blue, cowering from the tempest. And summer shoppers, clothed in shorts, sleeveless shirts and flipflops cowered also in the Simply Food outlet, desperate to leave without spending another five pounds but equally desperate to keep their purchases dry and still edible. And the fortunate, encased behind metal and travelling on rubber tyres, swished through giant puddles and racing waterways and drenched the thinly clothed sun worshippers under great waves of filthy water. The b*****ds.
