Staward Peel

A little jewel of a place that is hidden away somewhere up North. The walk along the Gorge is fabulous, taking in the autumn trees on all sides where there is a meeting of the rivers far down below. There is also a hidden ruin of a fort here which was built around 1300 to keep the Scots out. It seems to have worked !
