Hair Raising Opinion

The rain was a comin' today - so a planned bike ride was put on hold for 24 hours and we took the Jnrs to the cinema. They went with Mrs H to watch Brave in 3D (not my cup of tea) and I went to the IMAX screen to watch The Dark Knight Rises (not their cup of tea).

This is not a popular opinion, but I'll put it out there anyway (and I am not trying to start an argument, it's just my personal point of view), I did not like part II of the trilogy, The Dark Knight, at all. I thought it was an overlong, disjointed mess of an over-hyped movie. As such, I was a little concerned that this one would be the same for me. However, it's a belter of a film, much more like Batman Begins, which I enjoyed immensely. The IMAX experience is well worth the extra money. Top performances all round, a score that never stopped keeping the drama going and a great plot delivered with impressive cinematography.

So I am going to re-watch The Dark Knight tonight to see if I was maybe in the wrong mindstate when I saw it the first time. Hopefully I will like it, then people can stop looking at me like this when I tell them I thought it sucked.
