What is it about orange?

Edit after ceridwen's and SpotsOfTime's comments on fire: Fire, yes. Warmth. And burning: boats, bridges, books. Endings. Autumn too is an ending. So is sunset, often the predominant colour in a page of 'Popular' thumbnails. Endings of light.

But orange sunrises are popular too - a beginning of light.

Is orange's appeal to do with transition?
