USA BackBlip #7 : Canyonlands - Needles District
Just south of Moab (Utah) is a National Park that is off the beaten track, and attracts fewer visitors than its close neighbour of Arches N.P.
The Needles district is roughly 25 miles off the main highway...but in my humble opinion well worth the drive out.
Plenty of walks, including this one out to the Chesler Park area which took us 4 hours or so (return). Like Grand Canyon, it's impossible to describe the scale...but the panorama probably depicts 1-1.5 miles end to end if you walked it (my guess).
