Platanias

Just a few stragglers on the beach and streets in Platanias this afternoon. We took the short bus ride there knowing it was almost wound down. It's almost derelict Amanda...
The beach and strip gaudiness had a poignancy. Things were being stacked, fun fair rides dismantled, signs hosed down, last minutes sales of tacky souvenirs. In a side lane a tangle of sleeping kittens, some berries in fruit and something slightly wonderful to me. A hummingbird hawk-moth, wings going like the clappers, its long proboscis in mid-air refuelling. Lovely.
A few here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/michaelplaice/sets/72157672201766033
