Helping Hand

Miss E dug out her roller skates this morning for the first time in ages and spent all morning skating round the house. She's in seventh heaven with wooden floors and an unobstructed course from the living room, through the hall, round the corner to the dining room, through the kitchen and utility to the back door. And back again. And back again!!!!
Every time she got back to me in the living room she'd give me a very detailed run down on where she slowed down, where she sped up, where she wobbled, stumbled, tripped, lost her balance, or glided perfectly.
Got a bit tedious in the end to be honest!!!
We went to the park in the afternoon. Miss E on her roller-skates and Miss L on her bike.
Miss L was a bit wobbly on the bike - unable to get up any speed on the narrow, winding pathway - and unfortunately ended up topping into a blackberry bush full of nettles. She took it surprisingly well!
When we got to the park Miss E kindly let her have a go on her skates - a very rare occurrence! - helped her on with them, then held her hand and guided her around the playground. So sweet!!
I did have to laugh at them later when they were on the seesaw and monkey bars - they both kept their helmets on and made me look like that mum who makes her children wear helmets at the park!!!
Nana and Papa brought Maisie and the lovely Elsie - their new eleven month old cockapoo - round for an evening with us while they headed off for an evening out.
After a bit of squeaking Elsie soon settled down and enjoyed being fussed over by the Little Misses. Maisie just took to her bed for the evening!
Mum was tipsy when they got back which was quite funny - she'd had a free bottle of Prosecco from the venue to make up for a booking cock up a couple of weeks ago!!
