Romanesco

We saw a lot of these in French markets, but I was surprised when Gordon came back with one from Appleby today . . . this is Appleby that thinks it is still in Westmorland and has shops that have not changed since the 1950s!

Apparently these kind of cauliflowers have fractal properties, but I'm no mathematician. I just think it is a magical thing to look at.
