Last night we had tremendous thunder and lightning, and the rain bucketed down, harder than anything we have had year to date, with 30mm falling in a mere 20 minutes. Most grateful for it.
Presently experiencing severe drought conditions over large areas of the country.

The inset is the aviation map showing up the very intense activity - the yellow patch within the small circle - literally directly overhead our suburb at 21h22 last night.
