Baltic

Another early start this morning. I was up by 8am, as the guy was coming to measure my windows at 10:30am. It's been foggy every morning and dull, but the sun came out and it turned into a nice day. He was there for about an hour which wasn't too bad, and then I had a tidy and clean up.

I had time for a sit down and a smoothie and then I had to get ready to go and see A. She was away last week so it's always good to go back. I had plans to meet a friend afterwards in London for dinner, so I was going straight out.

My session made me a bit sad today. I spent a lot of it swallowing tears and folding and re-folding the tissue A passed me whilst we talked! It's just really hard sometimes.

I managed to catch the fast train which meant my poor, hungry friend J didn't have to wait too long! She chose a restaurant called Baltic which was highly recommended in the Timeout magazine. I was a bit nervous about trying Polish cuisine, but was willing to give it a go once I'd had a look at the menu online ;-)

Although the restaurant is almost dead opposite Southwark tube station, I am ashamed to admit I took a taxi, something I rarely do nowadays, as I just could not face walking. Not being lazy, but iron levels are on the floor and I knew just didn't have enough energy. A bit of a waste of a fiver, but hey.

The restaurant was really nice, and very modern and yet cosy inside. We shared a platter and had a nice girlie catch-up. It was really nice to go out midweek- oh the perks of half-term! And knowing you don't have to get up the next day.

Ro was out with a friend and we thought we might come back together, so I texted her to let her know I was on my way back. She said she was just starting to eat, so I went home alone, via the slow train.

I had a really nice evening, but it was nice to come home. PJ's, Little B and tea :-)

* Little R was dependent on my mum picking her up, and got waylaid with "eating and drinks". Having been to busy to think about how she was going to get home, she rocked up at Waterloo at midnight and realised there were no trains back here..... In the end the parentals picked her up from Woking and were none too happy about it...
