Clematis 'Nellie Moser'
" 'Nelly Moser' is a medium-sized deciduous climber. Large, single flattish flowers to 20cm in width, with eight rosy-lilac sepals, each with a carmine stripe and reddish stamens. Large globular seedheads follow. Flowers in late spring to early summer and early autumn. Flower colour fades in strong sun. "
At last our Clematis has flowered, I think the wet weather has made them very late and we didn't think it was going to flower at all this year. The Head Gardener does admit that he cut it back a bit last year, which might also have affected the flowering. This is one of my favourites in the garden and I am so pleased to be able to blip it.
G is away in Birmingham for a couple of days so we will be with A and E tonight in their house. School started today; I can't say they were terribly enthusiastic, but once they are there they will enjoy being back with their friends. At least that's what I think!!! C coming tonight for dinner also, so a full house, I like when we are all together.
Weather started off sunny but has got a bit duller in the last hour. I have washed the covers on our sofas and I am hoping that I get them dry and on again.
