Red rose

This morning was wet and what does an old woman do when it is a wet day? She makes  her Christmas cake! I have never had it done so early ever before, but this one is going to be well and truly fed by the time that Christmas rolls round. I am going to need a second bottle of brandy! (Especially as one of my nieces once said, " if you have a swig every time you feed the cake!)
Anyway, the sky has cleared this afternoon, so I give you one of the last of the hedge roses.
