Autumn light

I spent most of the day catching up, filling the cupboards yet again and turning the quinces I'd bought last week at the farm shop into the most delicious Membrillo, which can be stored in an airtight box for up to a year, though I doubt it will last that long.

I had a late afternoon walk round the grounds of Thorpe Hall, where a few trees were in their autumn finery, but most remained stubbornly green. I loved the low light percolating through this magnificent Turkey oak.
