View eastwards from the Purbeck Ridge

On the horizon, to the left, are the chalk cliffs of the Isle of Wight, which end at the Needles.  At the far end of the valley is Swanage, of which the southernmost, higher part is just visible.

In the middle distance is the village of Corfe Castle, the ruined castle of which is hidden behind the hill.
