Snow on the Sandias

I went up to the mountains this afternoon by myself without the dog or baby because I needed some quiet time. It had snowed hard in the mountains briefly this morning and rained down in the city. I was curious to see how this made the infrared look and to experiment some more with the IR camera.

Today has not been an easy day. Buddy the cat was found dead this morning. Buddy was a stray that adopted us about 3 1/2 years ago. He was a great cat. I tried to keep him in, but as a stray, he had many other ideas, and was an expert escape artist, especially at sneaking by unaware male humans like my son and ex who go in and out of the house a lot. None of my remaining cats go in and out so maybe this will be the last loss for awhile, although I do have an elderly cat and dog.

Sadly that wily turkey escape artist kept being seen roosting farther and farther from the house, the last time about a mile from here. I couldn't find her tonight.

Today I am grateful for the time I had with Buddy, my family, the other cats and a world of images to go to when I need to.
