Devil's Club at North Barriere Lake
This Devil's Club plant was brightly lit by a shaft of early morning sun while the surrounding vegetation was in shade. They are beautiful plants and apparently have some medicinal properties. I cleared a path through a patch of Devil's Club at the cabin several years ago and found that, while it has a nasty reputation, it caused me no great amount of pain. The thorns are a bit of a problem. The tiny tips of the thorns tend to break off in ones skin and cause a bit of irritation.
