View from High Hoyland
... taken just as the mist was clearing at lunchtime. We'd tried to have lunch at Cannon Hall, which was overwhelmed by families all trying to get into the pumpkin carving activity at the farm. (There were thousands of pumpkins laid out on the edge of the field waiting for their big moment of the year.) I imagine there will have been a few frustrated little people as they waited in line for their turn - maybe next year it will have to be a ticket event! I remember us taking Jimmy when he was quite young and although popular we didn't have any difficulty finding a place to carve his pumpkin.
High Hoyland and the Cherry Tree pub proved to be a good alternative for lunch - we need to remember this when school holidays come around again.
