Quiet day in

Supposed to be a Hania day - they had baking and trips out planned and we're looking forward to seeing him. Matthew however was very sick overnight and three lots of washing later was definitely not going anywhere. Quiet day with daddy today - though he's eaten lunch and tea so fingers crossed he's much better.

Mummy had an 'informal meeting' this afternoon to discuss the report from our IT review and the proposed next steps before the formal process of organisational change kicks in. Which it hasn't yet because although the academic committee has accepted the review and seems to want to implement it's recommendations they need to have a business plan to do so first and that's still two steps away and not even certain yet and... Quite a few unhappy people - particularly those involved directly in research support where the biggest shake up is proposed. Apparently however the HoD did concede months ago that his initial hand wavy feeling that organisations of our size typically only need 7 or 8 IT staff (which he originally defended despite evidence to the contrary) was basically completely wrong - he just never bothered to tell us. And they wonder why there's low morale? *ahem*

My turn for an extra quiet day at home tomorrow. Hopefully a nice one.
