Last of the autumn harvest

I picked the last of the red and orange outdoor tomatoes today. The rocket is still growing although much of it has gone to seed and has produced yelliw flowers. There were a few blackberries and raspberries, and the apples continue to fall.

Last year we picked each apple, wrapped them individually in paper, placed them carefully inside the wooden boxes that ian had made specially for this purpose and stored them for some months. They nearly all rotted. Thank goodness the chickens dont mind eating them.
The previous year we made cider.
This year we just collect them from the ground or the trees as and when they are needed. Its far less hard work, and the chickens still get their daily supply.
