The Olympic Stadium

What a great day! Up at 6am and in the Stadium by 8.15am in plenty of time for the first event at 9am. The whole atmosphere in London is incredible, everyone is happy, the volunteers (or games makers as they are called) are in great spirits and very helpful and continue to lift the mood.

The athletics session we had tickets for meant we saw lots of the Mens Decathlon, including the 110m hurdles, discus, and Pole Vault. We also saw the qualifying rounds for the Women's high jump, and the Men's 4 x 400m relay. The noise when Team GB ran their heat was phenomenal, and no doubt helped them qualify easily.

The session finished about 4.30pm, so we headed to Park Live to watch some more events of the big screen and soak up the atmosphere.

An incredible day, and so delighted to be a part of the Olympics. Now can't wait to come back on Saturday!

I took literally hundreds of photos but decided the awesome stadium was the pick for blip.
