Farewell dear friend

Today was not a good day!

I attended the funeral of a friend and work colleague. He was in his early 40s. Damn cancer!

The funeral was extremely well attended with twice as many people standing outside as could fit inside. There were friends and colleagues from school, from his golf club and from the football club.

There were also many gentlemen, some of whom had flown in from distant lands, clutching their Parachute Regiment red berets with their regimental emblems proudly emblazoned on their ties and blazers.

A well-liked and very much missed colleague for many.

The poppy was made by a friend who makes and sells them for the poppy appeal.
