Bisley, again
The plan was to meet our friends Pam and Paul for a picnic and a walk in the Gloucestershire village of Bisley (see previous blip and Bisley Blipfolio)
A phone call from Pam warned of dire weather this morning so we abandoned the idea of a picnic and decided to meet in the pub, The Bear, for lunch. The Bear is a very old country pub with a massive fireplace (complete with split for oxen turning) and does a good line in food and real ales.
After, as the weather had stayed quite nice, we decided on a walk out of the village into the Cotswolds countryside. Unfortunately this was curtailed after a while when we met the resistance of a large group of cows and calves, plus one very large bull, blocking our way through a gate; even the seasoned walkers who were behind us balked at leaping into their midst. I know FarmerGirl will think we're wimps, but then we don't live on a cattle farm in New Zealand!
So we walked back to the village, bought an ice cream at the local shop, and had a look around the wells and the church.
