A Varie(gate)d Diet!
Last night we went to Dartmouth to see a one-man comedy act: George Egg - Anarchist Cook. He was very entertaining. As we presented our tickets, we were each given a wooden fork - for tasting the evening's end results. Finely chopped young leaves from a spider plant formed part of one of the dressings of the three-course meal, prepared as if staying in a hotel room. (So, kettle, iron, trouser press, hairdryer, et al, all came into play!) If you get the chance to see him do; he was funny.
Not being foodies, what we'd failed to realise was that this was the culmination of Dartmouth Food Festival. There was so much going on, half the streets were closed, and there was nowhere to park. Fortunately, we'd arrived in good time. We drove back up the long, steep hill and parked at the top, in a side road. Then we walked down just in time for the show. So, at the end, with the prospect of a long, steep walk back to the car, we weren't tempted to stop and use our forks. Well, I'd got my recorded Strictly waiting to be watched, too. (Too late to vote this week. Perhaps just as well; I did vote for Naga last week, and she lost out in the Dance Off. Shame!)
So, nearly time for this week's results. Meanwhile, I'm eyeing up my spider plant and wondering ...
