John Carpenter - Live Retrospective

If you haven't heard of John Carpenter, he is a cult film director responsible for the original Halloween movie. He also directed Escape From New York, Assault on Precinct 13 and The Thing....amongst others. His films were usually violent urban nightmares or horror, but made with some panache. He tended to have an ensemble of repeat cast members, Kurt Russell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasance were some of his usual cast members.
He also composed the music for most of his films....the Halloween theme is instantly recognisable.

Back in the day I always looked forward to a new John Carpenter movie, so seeing him on stage playing the music from his cult movies was pretty cool and unique.  An event unlike any other music event I have experienced that has instantly made my 'favourite gigs' list. (The Usher Hall is always a great venue too).

In the blip, he is playing the music from his movie version of the Stephen King novel 'Christine' about a killer car.
