Doomed!

From the Peebleshire News this week:

"THE beeps could be about to sound on over 100 phone boxes across the Borders - including around a dozen in Peeblesshire.
BT have announced plans to look at closing 104 public payphones as usage continues to decline.
But community leaders have hit back - claiming the kiosks are often a much-needed back up in times of emergency and in areas where mobile phone reception is poor.
On the hit list for review are phone boxes in Broughton, Drumelzier, Stobo, Skirling, Romanno Bridge, Blyth Bridge, Eddleston, Kirkton Manor, Horsburgh Ford, Innerleithen, Walkerburn, Clovenfords and Yair."
At church this morning saw the box on the other side of the road.   BT says it hasn't been used for a year.  So I suppose it makes sense....
