Had a lovely day at Blacktoft Sands today with Charlie. He is a very knowledgable 8 year old who absolutely delighted everyone in the hides (I think!) He certainly impressed the volunteer warden who was there in most of the hides with us. they shared their knowledge and had a really good chat. 
The other ducks around are teal. We also saw a Kingfisher, a Snipe as well as numerous other ducks, oh and a great heron and a little egret. Not a bad day for spotting

We came back to see the Avocets on the Humber as well as a flock of sandpipers.
