Tuscan holiday, day 2

I drove off from the hotel at sunrise. Unfortunately the fog was very thick. On the way from Pienza to San Quirico d'Orcia I noticed that the fog was only getting thicker. I drove back and turned to the side road leading to Cappella di Vitaleta. I missed the path to the chapel at first, but that didn't matter at all when the landscape around the road slowly started appearing from the fog. I took the main photo before turning back.

On the way back I found the path and walked to the chapel (extra #1). I stopped again and took some more shots of the foggy fields (extra #2) before returning to the main road. I turned towards San Quirico d'Orcia and found the landscape there still quite foggy. I suppose those familiar with the famous Il Belvedere can still recognize its silhouette in extra #3.

After breakfast we drove off to visit Montepulciano, Castiglione del Lago and Cortona. All of them are interesting places (I had visited only Montepulciano on previous trips), but the best light was gone by then.
