Cnutsford

Lots of sorting out today - including in the garden, which I haven't seen in daylight since our return from holiday.

Mid afternoon we headed to Knutsford, to search out wallpapers.

This well to do Cheshire town is currently celebrating the 1000 years since the Danish king Cnut became king of England after defeating Edmund Ironside in battle in October 1016. It's a moot point whether Knutsford's name has anything at all to do with Cnut, who may never have been anywhere near a ford on the Lily, but who cares !

The blip is a Green Man standing in front of the Heritage Centre in the town.
