The Observation Tower

We decided it was time to go and check out the big bird lake, and also see if the cattle were gone so we could go for one of our favourite winter walkies.

The cows were nowhere to be seen, so we set off for a good long circular walk. Amazing colours surrounded us, even on this dull gray day. Where has the sun gone? After a while we got to the shore of the lake, and walked to our picnic spot. But guess what? Mum had forgot to bring picnic.

We went on to the observation tower. I ran up the steps!
There was very little water in the lake, and the swans and geese who hadn't yet moved south had to share a small area in the middle of the lake. They didn't sound too happy about this. Hm. Mum says it needs to rain and rain for days. That doesn't sound great to me.

Mum had to go to see the dentist in the afternoon, so I snoozed. She came home looking a bit lopsided and claiming we couldn't have burgers for dinner. Weird! She did get extra kisses because it felt like she needed them.
