Canterbury

We walked from our campsite into Canterbury via Fordwich and along the Stour Valley walk.

This photo is from a bridge in the centre of town, there were punts for hire but not many folk on them today. I liked the reflections.

I was planning on blipping the Cathedral but sadly we could not get close to it as they do allow you to walk to walk around the precincts without a £12 charge, which does include entrance to the Cathedral itself plus they don't allow dogs either!   I do understand that these buildings cost a great deal to maintain and I understand that dogs are not allowed in the Cathedral but not to be able to walk around the outside of the buildings without a charge seems very wrong, with or without a dog.

We called in at several hostelries on our walk to quench our thirst and then made our way back to camp as dusk was falling.
