Dogwod Shrub

These leaves are such a stunning colour of red that I just had to photograph them today.  These shrubby cornus plants are grown for their vivid winter stem colour.  

I'm going to the garden centre tomorrow to buy a plant for a friend's 70th so I might see if I can find a dogwood for my garden while I'm there.
