A new family moves in.
Today Aunty S and N travelled to Melbourne to visit their aunt, Noreen(father's sister). She and her husband, Ron, now in their 80's, have decided to move into a retirement village and are needing to "downsize". They thought we, and the girls, might like some items especially some of Noreen's beautiful quilting and handcraft. I very nearly said no to this farmer family but then could imagine Miss M enjoying them....I was right. They very quickly made their way to her bedroom and have taken pride of place on the bed. The cow is by far the favorite.
It was so wonderful to spend time with a wonderful lady and to feel so at home. We haven't ever had much time together as they always lived a long way away from us when we were very small (in WA for a while) and then, when my parents split up, we didn't see them at all until my Dad's funeral. It makes me sad to think about this. Especially when we enjoy each other's company so much. But, on the bright side, she is a very sprightly octogenarian so we should make the very most of whatever times we can share from now on and make more opportunities to spend time together.
