Day 231- Phillip Island
What a day!
Started the 2 hour journey from Mornington to Phillip Island, went straight to pick up the moto gp tickets for Sunday. I got so excited! Then we headed to the Koala conservation centre. The heavens were open all day, pro and con to that.. the pro was we were the only people in the centre the con was that all the koalas were protecting themselves from the rain, I did manage to get a little sneak peak at this little fella. This centre is amazing as they are all kept in there habitat and not the typical tourists touching and holding for photos so it was nice :) then we headed to the top of Phillip Island to spot some seals, but as the sea was so rough today, no such luck. So we headed towards the little town cowes for a proper English chippy! The lady even called it a chip butty! Haha and they had vinegar! Yum. We then went to the penguin parade! Which was unreal! The penguins were only 30cm high and they came on to the island just as it was getting dark in small little colonies. It was so amazing. As I was walking up to the top where they had come for the little burrows on the cliff, I was literally walking side by side with a penguin, they were not phased in the slightest. It was surreal. Beautiful end to a wet but beautiful day.
