It's French

Day 17

Martinique

Sailing into port as the sun rises it is typically cheery and colourful.
As the sun gets higher you can see that it is actually looking a bit ?tired? and many of the buildings are sadly in need of a lick of paint at the very least.

We also found that the people were not as friendly or helpful.

Maybe because it is still French?????

Took a ferry across the bay and found a nice wee beach that was virtually deserted (maybe because it didn?t have sun beds........which they were charging $10 for on the beach right next door).

It was great swimming in the warm sea (try doing that round Britain in December - or any time of year come to that) and sitting with the fish swimming right up to you.
There was a rain storm came over and virtually cleared the entire place ...........why? - it was warm and only lasted a few minutes.

Tonight it is a very slow trip to our next port of call ........... we are only using 1 of the ships 4 engines seemingly.
