Magnificent

I've seen countless pictures of Mount Rushmore, but it was a special experience to see it for real.

The memorial is a magnificent creation in a glorious landscape of mountains and pine forests. The air is crystal clear and everything seems in sharper focus and a shade more colourful.

Chipmunks scurry around the forest floor and deer suddenly make themselves known from among the trees.

Such a memorable day.
