Kingfisher . . . . .

. . . . . on the beach. This is a most unusual sight at Sumner Beach - I've never seen a kingfisher on the beach before, let alone just sitting on a log with his eye on the sea. When I walked closer he flew away and then returned to the same spot. Intriguing.
The other image in Extras, is of a very pretty pink daisy, growing in amongst the rocks. They're amazingly hardy plants.
