Furnace Extraction

Today I had to disassemble a furnace. Not too difficult a task really, except this one was in an attic since the house has no basement. There was very little room to maneuver and it was hot up there!  The last thing to come out was the heat exchanger pictured in this iPhone "victory shot." It was too big to fit through the access opening so I had to cut the sides off with a sawsall. Noisy, messy, hot, sweaty job.

The furnace was an old leftover one in a rental we are selling. Removing it was one of the terms of the sale. I didn't even realize it was up there until the inspector pointed it out.
