BLOWING A HOOLIE
We were quite late arriving at Ullapool after our late start from Applecross yesterday and guess what, the campsite was closed. Oh well, we'll just have to try the next one up the road. Fortunately, Ardmair Bay campsite was still open so we parked up and got the kettle on. Today we're heading for Durness on the north coast of Scotland and what a lovely run we had through all the tiny villages on the west coast of the country.
We had a wee bit of an altercation with an elderly gentleman (yes, even more elderly than me) at a passing place on a single track road. He refused to reverse into the only passing place in the vicinity and blocked the road for around 20 minutes. Fortunately, everyone kept reasonably calm and we eventually managed to get things sorted out.
When we arrived in Durness, it was blowing a hoolie and, when I popped up the roof on the campervan, it started rocking about all over the place. I quickly closed the roof and we decided to sleep downstairs.
Just before it got dark, we put on the waterproof gear and headed for the beach and just enjoyed the amazing forces of the elements!
